Travel Back In Time This Summer At The Renaissance Faire In Acton
Good day, My Lords and Ladies, prithee let me bend your ear for a moment and tell ye all about a fun family activity taking place in Acton, the next two weekends in July.
The Maine Renaissance Faire is set to take place on the 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th of this month. And for those who have never been to a Renaissance Faire, their Facebook Page has all sorts of information about it.
Faire producer Melanie Huard says it's a rain or shine event.
"The Maine Renaissance Faire brings together actors, artisans, history buffs, and fantasy lovers in a two-weekend event jam-packed with performances, food, and fun. Faire goers will be entertained by a unique schedule of performances on 7 stages, 2 fight rings, and the Jousting Field, including aerial acrobatics, jousting, live steel combat, comedy shows, belly dancing, Celtic and medieval music, juggling, whip cracking, and more. Fan favorites include the jousting tournament presented by RoundTable Productions and live steel combat provided by the Brotherhood of the Arrow and Sword."
Aside from all of the entertainers, there will be music and food, too.

Huard says there will be artisans and vendors selling unique, one-of-a-kind hand-crafted items, as well.
If you want to take a look at the full schedule -- so you can make the most out of your trip to the Faire -- it's posted right up on their website (along with directions and a bunch of other info) at TheMaineRenFaire.com.
The Maine Renaissance Faire takes place at the Acton Fair Grounds on both Saturdays and Sundays. The parking lot opens at 9 AM and activities kick off at 10 AM and run through 5 PM each day.
Aside from being encouraged to dress the part, and come in costume, if you really want to try your hand at stepping back in time, here's a short tutorial on some basic phrases you'll most likely hear, if not want to use yourself during your visit.
