TripAdvisor.com Lists Maine’s Top Beach

It's impossible not to think of a sandy beach when dealing with snow, freezing rain, and wind here in the Pine Tree State.  The big beaches in states like South Carolina, Florida and Hawaii come to mind.  But, if you give Mother Nature a little more time, you can visit one of the "Beat Beaches in the United States", at least according to TripAdvisor.com.

The online article says that Clearwater Beach in Florida with its "sugar white sand" is the best beach in the country.  But here in one of the northern most states in the union is Ogunquit Beach, #15 on the list!

The articles says, "the name says it all" in its description of the beach.  Oqunquit means "beautiful place by the sea", and most of the reviews of one of Maine's premiere beaches by recent visitors on TripAdvisor.com seem to agree.  The only complaints that you'll hear about one of Maine's longest beaches are about the summer traffic, and how high tide doesn't leave much beach.

Six of the top beaches on the list are in Florida, three are in Hawaii and one is in California.

Maine does have a variety of very popular beaches that are visited by tourists from all over the world!  A little over a year ago, Coastal Living Magazine named Acadia's Sand Beach the #9 best beach in the country, and then of course there's Old Orchard Beach, a popular destination of Mainers and Canadians!
