Unity Man Arrested After Brandishing Gun On Raceway, Cops Say
A man from Unity has been charged with Criminal Threatening with a dangerous weapon after authorities say he threatened another man with a firearm.
It all started just after 4 PM on Thursday, Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says, in the 300 School Street area in Unity.
"...the Maine State Police received a call from a man advising that he had just been approached and threatened by a man with a gun while at the Unity Raceway...The victim provided a description of both the suspect who he was familiar with as well as a description of the firearm used."
Moss says Maine State Troopers went to the suspect's home, 30-year-old Joshua Littlefield of Unity, joined by a State Police Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiators.
After some time, Little was apprehended, and taken to a local hospital to get checked out.
"Once released he will be transported to the Waldo County Jail. The case remains an active investigation."
Moss says that the State Police would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area of the Unity Raceway on Thursday afternoon and may have witnessed any of the exchange between the two men, or anything else that might be important to the case.
