The Westbrook City Council voted this week to approve the installation of new cameras that they hope will cut down on the 'sexually deviant behavior' occurring at the Walker Memorial Library.

Police told the Portland Press Herald that the behavior includes the use of the computers to view pornography and deviant sex acts committed at the library. Staff say the behavior is not necessarily rampant, but a few isolated incidents is too many for the small town library where children are often present.

Yes, seriously. People are basically going into the library, typing their favorite X-rated key words into Google with the Safe Search turned off, and entertaining themselves in ways that should only be enjoyed behind closed doors. In some cases, people are bringing their own computers with images and videos already loaded up and ready to go.

Staff hopes these new and improved cameras will cut down on the behavior.

Yikes.
