Winter And Wildlife At Center Of This Weekend's "Winter Fun Day"

For the first time in what feels like a while, the forecast for this weekend seems to be working for us and not against us, which is good news for those wanting to celebrate both winter and wildlife in Maine.

Both those things will be at the center of the Winter Fun Day scheduled to take place this Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM at Fields Pond Audubon in Holden.

According to their Facebook Page, the event is free for all ages, and there is no registration required.

"Join us for a day to celebrate winter and wildlife in Maine! Both indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family.

Indoor/Outdoor Activities:

• “Ice-cold Science!” with Maine Discovery Museum staff

• Winter/Nature-themed crafts

• Guided outdoor explorations at the top of each hour, including snowshoe hikes and winter wildlife tracking walks."

Fields Pond Audubon Society is located at 216 Fields Pond Rd. Holden, ME. You will obviously want to dress for the elements with appropriate footwear (there are some really muddy spots still, thanks to Mother Nature) and things like hats, mittens, and scarves will come in handy.
