The next winter storm to impact Maine is expected to bring nearly a foot of snow to the Bangor area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for much of Maine. Areas of northern Maine are expected to get 12-to-14 inches of snow overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

The Bangor area can expect around 10 inches of snow. The snow is expected to start in the Bangor area at around 9 p.m.

Downeast and coastal areas will see about 8 inches of snow, mixing with rain and sleet.

Forecasters are warning that both the morning and evening commute will be impacted by the storm. Drivers are advised to take it slow and leave plenty of space between them and the vehicle in front of them.
