A mid-week storm is expected to bring snow to the Bangor area and much of eastern Maine.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Bangor and Downeast areas. A winter storm Thursday is expected to drop about four inches of snow on the Bangor area, and much of eastern Maine. Northern areas of the state are forecast to get lesser amounts.

Forecasters warn of potentially hazardous driving conditions for both the morning and evening commutes. The advisory is in effect from midnight to 7 p.m. Thursday.
