This week looks to be a busy one for forecasters, with two storms expected to impact Maine. Round one is forecast to bring snow, sleet and ice to the Bangor and Downeast areas.

The National Weather Service is tracking the first of two winter storms heading for Maine this week. The first storm is expected to bring a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the Bangor and Downeast areas, Tuesday.

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for the Bangor Region and Interior Downeast. Snowfall totals range from 2 to 6 inches, sleet accumulations around 1/3 of an inch, and around 0.1 inches of ice, possibly more along the immediate coast.

The next storm is expected to impact Maine Thursday into Friday. The weather system is still too far out for a specific accumulation forecast. However, forecasters are expecting it to bring accumulating snow and ice to the state.
