Ever wonder what it's really like to be a Bangor cop?  Here's your chance!

The Bangor Police Department will hold it's third "Citizen's Police Academy" beginning April 8th!  It's a nine week course and you'll be train by experienced law enforcement professionals!

The classes are free to attend and will be held each Tuesday night between 6 and 8:30 at the Bangor Police Department, 240 Main Street, Bangor.

Here are some of the things that you'll learn about:

  • OUI Enforcement
  • What the Bomb Squad does
  • Criminal investigation
  • K9 Demostration
  • Special Response Team (SWAT)
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Drug enforcement
  • General Patrol Overview

The classes are designed to give folks a working knowledge of what members of the Bangor PD do, participants will not be trained to become actual police officers.  Applicants will be subject to a background check and people with felony convictions or a significant criminal history will not be accepted.
