If you're a Dish Network satellite TV subscriber, you may not be able to see a couple of local stations on your TV soon.  WVII ABC 7 and WFVX Fox 22 may disappear from the Dish channel lineup on Wednesday, October 16th.  Dish Network will not carry the two stations past its current contract which expires Tuesday, October 15th.

According to the television station's VP/GM, Mike Palmer, despite long term negotiations an agreement between the two companies has not been reached.  Palmer said, “We are simply seeking a fair deal, which adequately values the award-winning news, sports, entertainment, and weather programming that is paramount to our local viewers".

Palmer continued, “It is unfortunate that DISH Network does not value our highly rated stations. Regardless, we will continue to offer the same high quality programming as we always have, and we will continue to serve our community as we have done for decades.”

According to a press release Mike Palmer claims his organization is asking for a lesser amount than the Dish Network pays for ESPN.

WVII and WFVX will continue to air on DirecTV and Time Warner Cable.

Unfortunately for the area's Dish Network subscribers if the stand off continues viewers will not be able to watch the Red Sox playoff games or the World Series.  Those games will be shown nationally on the Fox network.
