On July 7th, 1969, George Harrison joined Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney at Abbey Road studios to record two songs:  "Here Comes The Sun" and "Something."

The week prior, John Lennon sustained injuries in a car accident and couldn't join the rest of the band.  George Harrison got the idea for "Here Comes The Sun" by walking around Eric Clapton's gardens on a bright sunny day.

It was on this date in 1978 that the Grateful Dead played the first of four nights at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.   Just this past weekend The Dead officially ended their run, minus Jerry Garcia of course, with a series of concerts in Chicago.

This date in 1980 marked the last time that the four original members of Led Zeppelin played a show together.  It was in Eissporthalle, West Berlin at the end of a European tour.  The band finished up with a 17-minute version of 'Whole Lotta Love.'   Drummer John Bonham would die a little over two months later.

To mark this momentous rock occasion, Zeppelin is the I-95 Artist Of The Day!

Bruce Springsteen's "Born In The U.S.A." album hit #1 on the BIllboard Hot 100 Album Chart.  It would go on to spend 139 weeks on the chart and produce 7 top ten singles.

Ringo Starr celebrates his 75th birthday today!  And, on this date back in 2010, Paul McCartney joined Ringo onstage to celebrate his birthday!
