Veteran rocker Lou Reed passed away this weekend at the age of 71.  Lou had a hard life of alcohol and drugs, and had recently had a liver transplant, in the long run it didn't work out.

Lou was a founding member of the Velvet Underground, a band which many critics called one of the most important and influential bands of the 60s.  Lou Reed was revered by many of his fellow musicians.

His most popular song was probably "Walk On The Wild Side", but what sticks with me the most is "Sweet Jane".  The following video is from the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame 25 Anniversary Concert in which Lou joined Metallica on stage for a version of the song.
