When Particles Collide, a band named the 2014 Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards, has released a new 6 song EP featuring the new song "This Town" and some of the sights within the video may look quite familiar to you!

When Particles Collide consists of two Bangor natives,  singer-guitarist Sasha Alcott and drummer Chris Viner.  In the video, you'll see shots of the newly painted Bangor mural, the Thomas Hill Standpipe and Paddy Murphys, among other familiar landmarks.

According to an article in the Bangor Daily News, "This Town" features six songs about "the fallout" resulting from the day last summer when Roxanne Papken and Phil Carter, both employees of Paddy Murphy's in Bangor, lost their lives on Route 1A to a drunk driver.

I did not know Roxanne and Phil, but I pass by their memorial everyday, and think of them.

This Town is a powerful song, and it seems to be about living in this fishbowl that we call Bangor, with high aspirations of making something more out of with what we deal with everyday, and how we lean or rely on each other.

When Particles Collide will play The Asylum at 121 Center Street in Portland this Saturday night.
