Over the weekend the names of lucky hunters selected for moose permits were announced.

The results are in. Over the weekend wildlife officials listed those who were selected for moose permits. 3,135 permits were awarded for the upcoming 2020 Maine moose hunt, 365 more than the previous year. Most of the permits, totaling 1,525, were divided among Wildlife Management Districts 1, 4, and 2.

You can view the list of all of those selected here.

Successful applicants will be notified via email and by mail in the coming weeks. Applicants will then need to pay for their permits. Permits fees are $53 for Maine residents, and $585 for non-residents.

The 2021 moose lottery drawing will be held at Sky Lodge in Jackman. The venue was to host the event this year, but was shifted to an online broadcast due to COVID-19 restrictions.
