More and more of the blank spaces around Bangor have become canvases for art installations over the last few years, to add beauty to the City's walls or in many cases, upon them.

The local art organization, Bangor Beautiful, is putting a new project together for a particular spot in Bangor, and they're collaborating with some budding artists to bring the concept of "pollinators" to life, as organizer Annette Dodd explains in this video.
"We are helping bring public art and education about the importance of nature and pollinators to local schools, beginning with Abraham Lincoln School. Local artists will collaborate with teachers and students to paint a public-facing mural on their school. "
While local artist Peter Walls will work on the layout of the mural, which will go along the wall of the school that faces Chapin Park, the designs he's working with have been sketched by Bangor school kids.
And as you can see, I think they did an awesome job! From the perfect kid-drawn spider in the middle of the picture to the creative depiction of ladybugs with lips and bees with interesting eyeballs, this is one mural I'm looking forward to checking out the next time I'm at the park.
"Students then created dozens of images that Peter Walls has assembled into a design... that will be outlined for students to paint when they return to school in the fall."

They're hoping to start work on the new mural later this month.
