Did You Know You Can Donate A Tree To Be Planted In City Of Bangor?
Bangor Beautiful is a group that was created just a couple of years ago, whose aim it is to beautify this city through art, cultivated green spaces, and organized clean-up efforts throughout the area.
Founded by local artists, business owners, and residents, one of the missions of the group is to find natural spots to enhance through things like landscaping and planting trees. You can help with this effort, too!
In a recent post on the Bangor Beautiful Facebook Page, the organization explained that they have a 'Buy A Tree' Program where folks who want to beautify the City of Bangor and make it a little greener, can donate a tree to be planted within the city limits, even right in their front yard!
"Bangor residents can now sponsor native trees in specific locations in the public right of way, such as their own neighborhood. Bangor Beautiful collaborates with you and the city to select and plant the ideal native tree, which will then be cared for by the city’s forestry department. Here’s our first tree in the program—a beautiful flowering dogwood at Norfolk and Blackstone."
According to the Bangor Beautiful website, there's even a specialized Bees & Trees Committee within the organization, whose responsible for "planting trees, creating gardens, and finding new opportunities to make our community more friendly for pollinators."
