The City of Bangor is looking for someone to lead them into the future! The current City Manager, Debbie Laurie, is retiring in May, so the search is on for someone to take over where Laurie leaves off. She announced in November of last year that she had plans to hang up her many hats before the end of 2025.

With Laurie leaving, the City has posted the position and is currently taking applications for the job, if you think you have what it takes.

According to the listing on the City of Bangor's website, the right person for the job will be flexible, a dynamic leader, and not only be able to help the City Council plan for the future but also help them remain transparent in the decisions they make to get there.

"An effective and experienced Administrator from an environment of similar complexity with proven organizational and professional skills must possess extensive knowledge of and experience in local government management, understand the demands of local government officials and staff, and have a demonstrated record of effectively addressing today’s most pressing local government issues.
An individual who has strong skills in finance and capital planning, human resources, employee relations, unions, planning, and community/economic development."
