Another Iconic Maine Take-Out Announces Opening Day

One by one they open for the season, and each time that they do summer seems just a little bit closer.

Crosby's Drive-In, the iconic clam shack and take-out on Route 46 in Bucksport, has announced that Saturday, April 17th, will be opening day this year.

Crosby's Drive-In has been a favorite in Bucksport for many years, and judging by some of the comments on left behind on their Facebook post announcing opening day, it sure looks like folks are one again pretty excited about bellying up to some of the tastiest fried clams, burgers and shakes in the area.

Crosby's Drive-In will soon join the already open Dairy Port on Main Street in dishing out ice cream and other goodies in Bucksport.

Meanwhile just down the street from Crosby's, Carrier's Mainly Lobster has been busy preparing for their summer season as well, as the folks there have just finished constructing a brand new outdoor dining area. As of this writing, Carrier's Mainly Lobster has yet to publicly announce an opening day.

Yes, Bucksport has two excellent seafood eateries within walking distance from each other, and each is worth trying if you haven't already.

The welcome news of Crosby's Drive-In opening soon in Bucksport follows the openings of such seasonal favorites as Jimmie's Ice Cream & Grill in Brewer, Gifford's Ice Cream Stand on Outer Broadway in Bangor, and Blueberry Hill Dairy Bar in Ellsworth.

So now the question remains, when will two of our other favs open? Those being Jordan's Snack Bar in Ellsworth and Bagaduce Lunch in Penobscot.
