Bangor Building on Hogan Road Will Be Torn Down To Build New Taco Bell
Change is coming for the building that once housed McVety's Hearth and Home, Finest Hearth, The Heating Lodge, The Black Stove Shop, and most recently The Chimney Guys.
The idea was first floated about in June when a proposal to build a new Taco Bell was brought before City officials.
According to the City's Planning Department, Charter Food's North went before the City's Planning Board and got approval on June 6th, for a project to demolish the existing building and construct a new one.
The property at 740 Hogan Road in Bangor, next to Applebees and The Comfort Inn, has been vacant for the last couple of years and is now slated to be torn down to make room for the construction.
According to Bangor's Code Enforcement Director, Jeff Wallace, paperwork for the demolition and construction was just filed with the City, and the company overseeing the project is eager to begin.
The plan, Wallace says, is to build a new Taco Bell on that site, and while no official timeline has been submitted, he got the feeling the folks in charge wanted to move on making the changes as quickly as possible.
The proposal for the new build includes a drive-thru and some extra parking, Wallace confirmed.
Speaking of Drive-Thrus, it seems our state is all about the convenience of the pull-up window.
