Early AM Assault In Bangor Sends One To Hospital, Another To Jail
An early morning assault at a home on 577 Union Street in Bangor on Wednesday sent one person to the hospital and another to jail.
Sgt. Jason McAmbley of the Bangor Police Department said dispatchers received a call just before 6 AM. The witness stated that a woman had been injured and bleeding, and yelling for help.
"When police arrived, they found an injured adult female outside the residence, who stated she had just been assaulted. Officers located the suspect, Rob Gray, 52, of Bangor, sitting on the steps outside."
"After speaking with witnesses and the victim, Gray was arrested and transported to jail."
Authorities were at the scene until Wednesday afternoon. The house remains taped off, and bloodied items of clothing can be seen strewn across the driveway and sidewalk in front of the home, along with an empty pair of shoes.
Sgt. McAmbley says Gray has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Violation of Conditions of Release.
We're told the victim was sent to the hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
