The Chapin Park Neighborhood Block Party didn’t happen last year.  But it will this year, tomorrow evening.

Plus, the Bangor Band will be performing.

The community event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, and the Bangor Band will be performing from 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The show will go on, and the Bangor Band is excited too. They haven’t been performing like they usually do due to the past year's events. So they are excited to continue their tradition. The band has been in existence seemingly forever. This is their 162nd year, making them one of the oldest community bands in the entire country.

Tomorrow evening's event is completely free to those who attend, the costs are covered by area business donations.  However, this is also an event that is a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Get everybody together for this family fun, and have a hot dog or some ice cream, and say hello to neighbors you might not have seen in over a year. You’re also encouraged to bring along a lawn chair or a blanket.  And without jinxing anything, a reminder that the rain date will be next Tuesday.

What a beautiful park in the city of Bangor and what a beautiful community spirit-raising event.  Enjoy. All are welcome.
