Bradford Homeless Camp Organizer One Of 2 Arrested In Bangor Drug Bust
There was a heavy police presence in the area of the "tree streets" in Bangor on Wednesday morning.
According to the Bangor Police Department, several BPD detectives, along with members of the Bangor Police Community Enforcement Team, were at the home on Maple Street investigating at around 10 AM. Authorities allege that this particular home has been part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity in that area.
Upon the execution of some search warrants, two arrests were made.
"Bangor Police arrested Michael Tuller, 74, and Richard Lee, 26, both of Bangor, at a Maple Street residence on Wednesday, May 7th, after serving a search warrant as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Evidence was seized as part of the case, and Tuller was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs, Class A. Lee was taken into custody on outstanding warrants."
Once arrested, the men were taken to the Penobscot County jail for processing. Police say that this investigation is still active. If anyone has any information about illegal drug use or sale within the city limits, you can contact the Bangor Police Department by calling (207)947-7384 extension 3 or by checking out tip411.com to report such action anonymously.
Tuller has been in the news before. Just two years ago, he was the driving force behind a plan to build a homeless encampment on some land in the Bradford area, which ultimately fell through, according to WABI News.

At the time, Tuller was the president of a group called Bangor Friends of Affordable Housing and had purchased over 30 acres of land in the town, which he had hoped to use towards the project.
