Bangor Greendrinks is planning a rooftop party next week at the new Bangor Savings Bank building to unveil a new trail map.

It sounds like it's going to be a fun party, and a chance to get to see the view from high atop that beautiful new building on the Bangor waterfront. Bangor Greendrinks throws family-friendly gatherings from time to time that ask for a suggested $5 donation per person to get in. Bring your own drinking vessel in order to cut down on waste, or you can buy one at the site. The Greendrinks tradition started in 1989 in a London pub, according to the group's Facebook page. Now, there are similar organizations in more than 500 cities that host gatherings for fun, business networking and meeting new friends.

On Tuesday, June 11, the rooftop party will be held from 5 p.m to 8 p.m., and will debut the 2nd Edition Bangor Trails Map & Guide, featuring more than 150 miles of trails and trail networks in the greater Bangor area. They're open for walking, hiking, biking, and winter activities, like cross-country skiing.

Music for the evening will be provided by Great North Woods, a very talented Americana group with amazing vocalists. (Okay, I'm prejudiced. My son, Charlie, is in the band. But they really are great.) Refreshments will include a collaborative IPA from Buoy Local and Geaghan Brothers Brewing, along with snacks from Moe's BBQ. Of course, there will be non-alcoholic choices as well, so bring the kids.

Then, you can you use your new trails map to plan adventures in the beautiful Maine forests.
