Let me start by saying I was absolutely that kid who, as many out there can relate, had a special stuffed animal. His name was Flopsy, and he was a bunny I got for Easter when I was 4.

By the time I was in middle school, he had no eyes, no arms, a protective jumpsuit to keep his stuffing from spilling out, and my mom had to reattach his head with pink thread because it kept coming off while cuddling him when I was a child.

To say I understand how important some special toys/stuffed animals are to some kids would be an understatement. They're the items that bring us comfort through tumultuous times.

That's why when I see a random stuffed animal or toy that has obviously been loved on, I have that urge to reunite it with its pint-sized owner.

That being said, for the past few months, I have noticed this little crocheted bear behind the counter of the Walgreens on Union Street in Bangor. At first, I thought it might belong to one of the cashiers or maybe one of their kids.

But it never moved. Each time I'd go in, I'd see it in the same spot. So last week, I finally asked Jessica, the cashier, what the deal was, and she said it had been left there accidentally by a customer who had popped in with their child in tow. It's not someone who lives locally, or they would have surely seen the bear by now. Therefore, it must belong to someone who was visiting or just passing through.

It's a sweet little bear, likely made with love, especially for some tiny tot. So I'm going to harness the positive power of the internet to see if anyone out there recognizes this little guy, and if so, can we reunite it with its tiny human?

In the meantime, it's being looked after by the awesome crew at Walgreens.

Hopefully, the owner's parents see this and go back to get this lost little toy, and they'll all get to have a good, long cuddle again. Feel free to share this around. Fingers crossed this post will make it to the right place for both the bear and its special kid to come back together again.
