Bangor’s Downtown Murals Are Also Part Of A Scavenger Hunt

Earlier this year, we told you all about how the Downtown Bangor Partnership was looking for new artists to participate in their wheatpaste mural program. They help folks out with finding locations, getting their art transferred to the right size for the medium, and give them the materials to actually do the murals. When speaking to WABI-TV5, DBP had this to say:

Downtown Bangor has a lot of wonderful cultural assets in addition to being a great place for shopping and dining. We wanted to create something that we can freshen up on an annual basis that will cause people to come down here and take part in the temporary installation but also begin to fall in love with the permanent features that we have here.

 

They're also taking the whole thing a step further during the month of July, and they've created a scavenger hunt that uses these murals as the feature. By participating, you will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets to the show of your choice from Waterfront Concerts.

The plan goes like this... There are 23 murals around the city, and you will need to take selfies with five of them, and upload them to Instagram. You'll then use the "carousel feature" to get it done right. Then use the special hashtags #BangorMurals, #BGRWheatpaste, and #DowntownBangor. Obviously, you'll want to make sure your Instagram profile is set to public, and your entry has to be received between July 1st -  July 31st.
