Body Washed Ashore At Near Maine Lighthouse, Police Ask For Help To Identify
The Maine Department of Public Safety says authorities are searching for the identity of a woman whose body was found near a Maine lighthouse Thursday afternoon.
"The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South is investigating after the body of an unidentified female was discovered washed up onshore at Fort Williams Park near the Portland Head Light on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at approximately 1:50 pm. The deceased is described as a white female, estimated to be in her early 40s, approximately 5’3” tall, with brown hair and blue eyes."

Authorities say that on the body, they found a very specific tattoo of a yin-yang on her left hip. The yin-yang was set in the middle of a blue swirl or tornado.
The woman also had some notable scars, including one from an appendectomy on her stomach, and one on the back (along with a patch from the procedure) on the back of her head from a recent surgery.
Along with the distinguishing marks, officials say the woman had on size 7 AirWair boots, a blue Fjallraven T-shirt size medium, and dark-washed jeans.
If you think you might know who this woman is, or have any information at all about this case, you are asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit of the Maine State Police by calling (207) 624-7076.
