Animal lovers rejoice! The no-kill shelter was recently left it's biggest gift ever.

Violet and James Moffett of Dover-Foxcroft have left more than $1.3 million dollars in their will to the Bangor Humane Society.  The $ will be used to create the non-profit Voilet F. Moffett Memorial Fund, which will go towards caring for the animals at the shelter on Mt. Hope Avenue in Bangor that are waiting for adoption.

95% of the animals that pass through the shelter are adopted.  The Moffetts had adopted many dogs over the years, including a few from the Bangor Humane Society.

Renovations have been taking place at the Bangor Humane Society and should be completed by this summer.  They include new dog kennels and cat condos, a new lobby, and a new intake room where animals from out of state are welcomed.

All animals lover can DONATE as well, as every little bit helps!
