So today, Friday the 13th, and the full moon coincide for the for the first time since October 13th, 2000. And if you really want it spooky, that was the one to have. Friday the 13th on a full moon in October?! That's where it's at. But, it won't happen again until August 13th, 2049.

Tonight isn't too bad, though. It has a fall feel, for sure. And it is a Harvest Moon. According to News Canter Maine, there's a lot of other cool factoids around Friday the 13th full moons too.

For instance, this moon is called a "micro moon". You may remember the super moon from a few years back... Well, this is the opposite. In this case, the moon is farthest away from the Earth, making it appear much smaller than an average full moon.

And tonight, in the Eastern time zone, we don't technically see the moon at it's fullest until 12:33a.m. on Saturday. So basically, all the fun spooky elements are off the table for us. If you were planning some sort of cult ritual, you'll be S.O.L.

At any rate, it's a fun idea, that kind of helps set the stage for fall/Halloween. That can't be a bad thing. But it also means that we're about to kiss summer goodbye. So like most things in life, I guess we have to take a little bad with the good.
