Down East Sunrise Trail Washout Repaired

Rains earlier this week created a really bad situation in Columbia Falls at mile 45.

The very popular Down East Sunrise Trail that extends between Ellsworth and Pembroke experienced quite the washout this week which created a detour approximately one-half mile long.  But fear not riders and hikers, workers later in the week pulled it off, you can now ride our ATV, bike, or hike straight through!

Check out the parking lots at the two trailheads in the Ellsworth area any Saturday morning, you'll notice that they're filled with trucks hauling ATVs on both the Washington Junction Road and by the Best Western on High Street.  It's one fun ride!
