Three people from Passadumkeag were arrested during a major drug bust in Penobscot County Tuesday, authorities say.

According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, 59-year-old Colin Smith, 48-year-old Tonya Albano, and 48-year-old Christopher Reed were arrested and taken into custody, each charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking and bail violations following an ongoing investigation into suspected drug activity taking place at a residence on Pleasant Street in Passadumkeag.

Authorities say dangerous drugs, weapons, and cash were confiscated during the search.

"The operation resulted in the seizure of dangerous drugs, including Fentanyl, Carfentanil (Carfentanil is an extremely potent synthetic opioid, similar to fentanyl, but significantly more powerful), and Methamphetamine. Deputies confiscated a shotgun, a handgun, ammunition, and over $1,000 in cash suspected to be drug proceeds. The investigation remains ongoing."

Maine Probation and Parole, the Maine Warden Service, and the Howland Fire Department supported the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office in their investigation.
