It was a busy night for the Ellsworth School Board on Thursday, March 31st as they voted unanimously to begin a phased in approach for full return to in-school learning.

The School Board which had been using a "6 foot" rule between students, voted to change the distance between students to 3 feet which is consistent with the CDC guidelines.

The High School will continue hybrid and fully remote options as well as a full return to in-school learning and the K-8 grades will have a choice of "full return" or fully remote. Parents and students will need to make the choice and stick with that choice through the end of the school year.

There will be an added professional day, (non-student day) which will be the Friday, before the phased in return to school. At the high school, this will be Friday, April 16th, with the return to school scheduled for Monday April 26th, after the April vacation.

Approved volunteers will be allowed to come back to the schools, when scheduled by building administrators. There will be a need for more volunteers, and volunteers are encouraged to check with their building principals.

Parents and students can expect emails from building principal's regarding the specific dates for the return to in-school instruction.
