The Bangor Police Department on Thursday announced a parking ban throughout the city so crews can clean up the heavy snow overnight.

The ban starts at 11 p.m. Thursday and will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Friday. Vehicles left on city streets or parking lots during the ban may be towed at the owners expense.

More information can be found at the city's website.

The storm caused city offices to close at noon on Thursday. City Hall will be open as a warming center until 4:30 p.m.

The storm is expected to bring more than a foot of snow to the city.
