Folks In Waterville, Maine Will Be Put Behind Bars This Weekend…For A Good Cause!
The Humane Society Waterville Area will be putting people behind bars this Saturday. But not because they've done anything wrong; quite the contrary. The organization will be holding its first "Paws Behind Bars" event on Saturday, November 1st at 1 PM.
Organizers are hoping this will be a fun way to raise money and awareness for the work the HSWA does for animals in the area.
"Participating in Paws Behind Bars is simple: commit to raising $200 while you’re “locked” in one of our outdoor dog kennels. Don’t worry, you won’t be stuck alone—you’ll have an adoptable dog as your kennel mate. This is the perfect chance to do some team building, have a laugh, and most importantly, support the incredible work of the Waterville Area Humane Society."

The event will be taking place right at the shelter, at 100 Webb Rd in Waterville.
For the last 55 years, HSWA has been a no-kill shelter, with a placement rate of 97.5%.

"The Humane Society Waterville Area is an open admission shelter which holds municipal contracts with 25 communities in central Maine. We care for 1,800–2,000 animals every year, consisting of dogs, cats, and small animals such as rabbits, rats, and birds."
If you're interested in joining the "paws" cause and would like to register in advance, you can click here for the link to sign up. You can also just show up on Saturday to participate.
