Launching in the fall term of 2025, Husson will have the option for students to work toward their Bachelor of Wildlife Biology and Conservation or work towards their Bachelor of Science in Professional Health Sciences.

According to Husson's Director of Communication, Sarah Walker Caron, the BS in Wildlife Biology and Conservation program will be offered both in person and as online courses, while the BS in Science and Professional Health Sciences will be strictly taught over the Internet.

"Through the Wildlife Biology degree, students will gain knowledge to manage and conserve wildlife and their habitats. This degree will prepare them for positions as Wildlife Biologists who provide care and conservation of wild animals and habitats, as well as to ensure the safety of human communities through education and intervention.

The fully online BS in Professional Health Sciences degree will offer a flexible curriculum featuring the latest practices and insights in professional health fields to prepare students for successful admission into professional graduate-level programs in health fields including Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy."

The University will also be offering in-person options for two of its more popular courses, the BS in Nutrition & Health, and a Certificate in Animal-Assisted Therapy, which up until this point have been offered solely online.

At the end of last year, the University announced the creation of a special scholarship for incoming local students.

The two criteria to qualify for the scholarship, which has the potential, in combination with some other federal, state, and institutional aid to cover the entire cost of tuition, are that the student applying for the funds must live in Penobscot County and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
