Bangor area residents are cautioned not to be alarmed on Tuesday, May 7th,  when first responders head to the airport with their lights on.

The Federal Aviation Administration Requires This Emergency Exercise

According to a notification from Bangor International Airport, a full-scale emergency exercise is planned for Tuesday, May 7th, which the Federal Aviation Administration requires. These training exercises must be conducted in the most realistic atmosphere possible, to truly test the capabilities of local emergency responders and also the crews at the airport.

People Can Expect to Hear Sirens in the Area of the Airport

There will be sirens in the streets around the Union Street airport during the day on Tuesday as members of numerous local emergency and law enforcement agencies will take part in this drill that's planned from 8:00 in the morning to 1:00 on Tuesday afternoon. Bangor International Airport officials are making people aware of this exercise so they won't be concerned when they see firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances rushing to the scene.

No Flights Are Scheduled for Tuesday So No Passengers Will Be Inconvenienced
