Bangor Police arrested a man over the weekend for an alleged assault in a local hotel room.

Bangor, Maine Man Arrested for An Allegedly Assault in a Hotel

Daniel Chapman, 32, of Bangor, was arrested Sunday in a hotel room on Godfrey Boulevard in Bangor.

Officers responded to the hotel at approximately 3:44 am after the hotel staff called the police department and reported an argument in a hallway.

The caller told authorities that someone was allegedly threatening 'bodily harm' and said it sounded violent.

Multiple officers responded to the hotel and found that the altercation had moved inside a room.

Bangor Police Sergeant Jeremy Brock says officers could hear continued threats of physical harm as well as alleged threats to use a firearm.

Bangor, Maine Man Faces Multiple Charges After an Alleged Assault in a Hotel

Officials made their way into the room after they heard what they believed to be an assault taking place, where they took Chapman into custody.

An investigation into the incident resulted in Chapman being arrested on the following charges:

  • Criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon
  • Assault
  • Violation of conditions of release

He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Police have not commented on the motivation for the altercation or whether anyone was hurt in the incident.
