Bangor Police say the shooting death of a man on Highland Avenue was a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Daniel Ford-Coates, 24, of Bangor.

The Shooting Was Reported on Highland Avenue

Officers were called to a residence on Highland Avenue in Bangor at approximately 4:20 Tuesday morning for a reported altercation. When they arrived, police found Ford-Coates suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital by Bangor Fire, where he was pronounced dead.

Police Say the Death is Considered a Homicide

An autopsy was performed at the Office of the Medical Examiner which officials say determined that the manner of death was homicide.

Police have not commented on a motive for the murder but say that this is an isolated incident. They say there is no threat to the public.
