In a video posted to his social media pages on Monday, December 1st, Platner called for Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to be investigated.
The Secretary of War oversees the War Department and serves as the nation’s chief policymaker and advisor on military matters.

In Platner’s video, he says it’s time to take a hard look at Hegseth and raises concerns that the U.S. may have committed war crimes involving Venezuelan vessels.
Platner adds that there should be a full investigation to ensure anyone involved in illegal activity is held accountable.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Hegseth authorized the September 2nd strike on a suspected drug-trafficking boat.
A second strike that killed survivors was also ordered. That follow-up action has sparked major controversy in Washington, with both parties questioning whether it may have crossed the line into a war crime, even as the White House maintains the operation targeted narcoterrorist groups under the laws of war.

And there you have it! Graham Platner says that Secretary Pete Hegseth should be investigated for possible war crimes.
