
Maine Wardens Arrest a Suspect in an ATV Hit-and-Run
A Waterboro man is facing charges after allegedly hitting a landowner with his ATV and dragging him.
Waterboro, Maine Man Arrested for Allegedly Hitting a Landowner with an ATV
Devin Lafrance, 21, of Waterboro was arrested on Tuesday night, June 9, 2026, and charged in connection with an incident earlier this month in Limington.
Lafrance is charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Reckless conduct of an ATV
- Failing to stop and identify for landowner
He was taken to the York County Jail, where he was booked and later released.
Maine Landowner Hit and Dragged by an ATV Driver, Who's Now Facing Charges
Wardens asked for the public's help after the incident on June 2nd, when a landowner was struck and dragged on his own property.
The incident happened at approximately 8:30 pm on the Pequawket Lake Road, when the landowner stopped the ATV driver for operating dangerously.

When the landowner tried to photograph the ATV and the registration, the operator rapidly accelerated, striking the landowner, and dragging him 75 feet before he got away.
Officials say the landowner was treated at the hospital for abrasions and contusions and was released that night.
Maine Wardens Say Tips from the Public Helped Lead Them to Limington Suspect
Maine Wardens released a photo of the ATV and asked for the public's help identifying the driver and passenger.

Multiple tips were reported, as well as considerable video, and trail camera footage.
While none of the tips were able to positively identify the driver or the rider, many of them provided insight which allowed game wardens to follow up and investigate further, including eventually identifying the make and model of the ATV.
The information and investigative work culminated in a search warrant for LaFrance's property and a warrant for his arrest.
