Maine Store Has a New Owner to Take It Back to Its Roots
The new owner of a store at the center of a Maine community wants to take the business back where it started.
Maine Corner Store at a Busy Intersection Has a New Owner with a Traditional Vision
Bailey Jankowski has a vision. She's worked for other businesses and, while she was happy with the work, she always felt she wanted to be her own boss.
Her Dad, Bob, owned a plumbing and heating business in Bangor for years, and she wanted to build something for herself.
So Bailey bought a store.

The Brewer resident once lived in Orrington and remembers when Bob's Kozy Korner was the go-to destination for everything from grocery items to hot pizza.
Bob Bastey and his wife, Tonia, owned the store at the corner of Johnson Mill and Brewer Lake Roads for 15 years before selling it in 2019 to retire.
Orrington, Maine Store Will Again Be Known as Bob's
Since then, it's changed hands a couple of times, been renamed a couple of times (the latest name was Buck's Country Corner), survived Covid closures, and even a fire in the upstairs apartment.
Now, a new chapter begins as Bailey returns the name to Bob's, this time named for her Dad.
Bob's Country Store will remind residents of Bob's Kozy Korner, according to Bailey. She wants to carry more grocery items than are currently available, for people who need a quick item but don't want to drive into Brewer to pick it up.
Bailey says the food counter will return to the basics, with a phased menu, at first. Because she's hitting the ground running with the store, she says she hopes the community will understand if they don't offer a full menu on day 1.
But, before long, it will be the place to go when you don't want to cook.
Orrington, Maine Store Will Open This Month and BeTagging Deer in the Fall
And, great news for hunters from all around the area, Bob's Country Store will continue to be a tagging station. (My husband says thank you!)
The soft opening of Bob's Country Store will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with a grand opening planned for Tuesday, March 17, 2026. That's St. Patrick's Day, and also happens to be Bailey's birthday.
As a resident of Orrington, Bailey, I welcome you to our community. We can't wait to see what you do with Bob's.
