The Purple Iris Foundation is set to hold a fundraiser event at the Penobscot Valley Country Club on Saturday, July 8th, from 6 pm to 9 pm. The event is open to the public and is free to attend, but donations are highly encouraged to support the foundation's mission of raising cancer awareness, providing support, and giving hope to individuals and families affected by cancer in Maine.

The event promises to be a night of incredible music, dancing, and fun, headlined by Maine's own Riff Johnson and Jessi Mallory. Jessi, an award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist, will perform all of Elvis' greatest hits and promises to capture the true essence of the legendary musician. On the other hand, Riff Johnson, named as one of the best rock vocalists out of Nashville, Tennessee, will showcase his guitar virtuosity, vocal range and texture, and looping skills to entertain the crowd the entire show.

Chris Parrish, a survivor of pancreatic cancer, established The Purple Iris Foundation with the purpose of increasing awareness, extending support, and instilling optimism in cancer patients and their families in the state of Maine. After Chris's 3 1/2 years of active treatment, she was motivated to create the foundation and offer assistance to those who are undergoing a comparable ordeal. With Chris having survived for fifteen years, she serves as an inspiring example that hope does exist.
