Maine State Police have released the name of a Standish man and say his death is a homicide.

One Man is Dead and Another Injured After Standish, Maine Incident

The deceased has been identified as Thomas Foster, 23, of Porter. Officials say he died of a gunshot wound.

Just before 9:30 pm on Tuesday, Deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an altercation on Kennie Drive in Standish.

Maine Medical Examiner Says Standish Man's Death is a Homicide

When they arrived, deputies found a deceased male, later identified as Foster. A second adult male, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not commented on whether the two men knew each other, or whether the second man is a suspect or another victim.

Mr. Foster was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy determined he died of a gunshot wound. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Maine State Police, who are assisting in the investigation, say there is no danger to the public.
