A Lamoine man was killed in a head-on collision that seriously injured the other driver.

Two People Were Involved in the Head-on Crash

David Worcester, 51, of Lamoine died in the crash. Nicholas Libby, 36, of Addison was injured.

Police Say One Vehicle Left Its Lane of Travel and Struck the Other

It was just before 1:00 Thursday afternoon when Troopers responded to a report of a fatal crash on Route 1 in Steuben. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says an initial investigation indicates that a red Nissan Rogue driven by Libby was traveling east on Route 1 when his vehicle crossed the center line. The Nissan stuck a silver Subaru Forrester, driven by Worcester, was struck head-on.

Worcester was pronounced deceased at the scene. Libby was transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was treated for serious injuries.

The Investigation On the Details of the Crash Continues

Police have not commented on what caused Libby's car to leave its lane of travel. The crash remains under investigation.
