Maine Likely to Get a Taste of Spring This Weekend With Warm Temperatures

If you've simply grown sick and tired of the cold weather, the impending snow storms, the glare ice or the general chill that has set into your bones, this weekend could be for you.

It's been a long, dark, cold winter for Maine. A lot of snow in February and a lot of days where the temperatures were several degrees below normal. But if you believe forecast models, then Maine could finally feel the warmth of spring just days before the season actually arrives.

Forecast Models Promise a Spring Burst For New England This Weekend

According to NBC 5, forecast models have begun to come together and promise that a short but strong warm burst is likely to arrive in New England over the weekend. That warm burst should bring temperatures in the 60's for much of New Hampshire and portions of southern Maine are likely to see mid 50's.

It will even warm up parts of the Pine Tree State that haven't seen many temperatures exceed a number that starts with 3 for the better part of five months. Central and eastern Maine could see temps in the mid-50's as well on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Warm Burst Will Come With Another Spring Tradition, Rain

Spring in Maine isn't complete without days of gray skies and plenty of rain. With the warm up over the weekend, Mainers can expect just that. Sunday will be the warmest day but cloud cover and potential fog will make it feel sleepy.

According to WMTW, St. Patrick's Day looks very comfortable temperature wise. There's also likely to be steady rain that day.
