In an average week, research has discovered that the average user pick ups their phone more than 1,500 times a day.

I laughed and shook my head a little when I ready this new survey.  Seems kind of like mom in a box. Still on the other hand, I have read that because of the barrage of information we all take in on a daily basis we wind up forgetting  a lot of stuff we need to remember and do, so if this takes some of the basic stuff off your mind maybe it is a good thing.

The new study of 2,000 smartphone users proposes that many of us have become so reliant on our phones that we use them to carry out a staggering 221 tasks every day for many before we’re even out of bed.

A few of the more popular uses:

  • Alarm clock
  • Facebook
  • Games
  • Weather
  • E-mail
  • Shopping
  • News
  • Texting

The research was carried out by marketing agency Tecmark.

How many things do you let your phone keep track of??
