It's hard not to get a little skittish talking to famous people.

Our job sometimes affords us the chance to talk to rock & roll royalty.

Such was the case recently. There was an opportunity to speak with Ian Hill, bassist for one of the most iconic metal bands of all time, Judas Priest. The conversation took place over Zoom, and it's never been so convenient for the webcam to not work. That way he couldn't see the stupid fanboy power grins that were going the whole time.

Judas Priest has a new album out this year and will be touring in support of it, which will include a stop in Bangor on April 24th at the Cross Insurance Center. Tickets are still available, and can easily be purchased ahead of time, right here..

He talked about their new record a bit, trying to balance the setlist between new and old, and how they come up with the setlists in the first place. It's always amazing to hear stories from bands at that level, that they really just operate like any band, anywhere. It all happens in the practice space.

But let's take a deep dive into this killer conversation. Even despite what was said earlier, any chance to talk to Ian would rule. He was so chill and so sincere. He was every bit what you'd expect from a member of Judas Priest. Or maybe he was so polite because he's British. Who cares! It was awesome. He talks about the set lise process, the new album, the tour.. all sorts of stuff. Let's dig in...

He also took a minute to talk about what goes into making the setlist. So many factors... Making themselves happy, and making the fans happy. It's gotta be a ton of work. Check it out...

What a legend.

Is Priest on this list???
