Man Dies At Acadia National Park After Swimming
A South Portland man died after swimming in Acadia National Park's Echo Lake on Saturday.
The BDN reports 39-year-old Nathan Savage was vacationing at the park with his wife and children. He had just returned to Ikes Point, after a swim across the lake, when he collapsed while sitting on a rock at around 3:00 Saturday afternoon. Efforts to resuscitate Savage, by his wife and then rescue workers, were unsuccessful.
An autopsy is planned by the State Medical Examiner's Office to determine cause of death.
