The band's first and yet to be filmed concert of 2020 will be shown at the Bangor Drive-In.

Metallica took to social media recently to announce that a concert filmed in 2020 for the big screen will be shown at drive-in movie theaters all across the country on Saturday night, August 29th, including Bangor Drive-In on Hammond Street in Hermon.  The two hour concert will begin at 8:15.

The concert series called Encore Drive-In Nights will "virtually" bring the band along with a special guest appearance by Three Days Grace to Bangor. Metallica will play material from their almost 40 year career and it will be the band's first concert in almost a year.

The concert will be filmed "at a location near the band’s Northern California headquarters" as well as be "edited and mixed by Metallica's award-winning production team to the highest standards possible," according to the band's press release.

Every ticket sold at $115 will admit a car-load of six people and will include 4 digital downloads of METALLICA’s S&M2, the new album by the band that was recorded with the San Francisco Symphony over a two night stand.  Tickets go on sale this Friday at 12 noon. The audio will air via FM radio.

This "live experience" by one of rock's biggest acts will also be shown at two other drive-ins in Maine - the Skowhegan Drive-In Theater and also at Pride's Corner Drive-In in Westbrook.

This will be the first rock concert shown at the Bangor Drive-In this year, and follows performances by Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton.
