More trouble for Facebook?

A new study shows that even more teens are sooo over Facebook. It's probably because the popular social media site is no longer a 'parent free zone.' The study shows an explosion in users ages 55 and up. Matter of fact, from 2011 to 2013 Facebook use in the 55+ age group has grown by 80.5%.\

Over three years, more than 3 million teens have so, totally, ditched the FB. It's a rough hit for the network, as teens are a target demographic for advertising on the site.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has brushed off the study on several occasions in interviews. The only words spoken on the subject are from Facebook's chief financial officer David Ebersman. He noted back in October at a conference that Facebook has seen a 'decrease in daily users among younger teens.'

Where are the youth of the world spending their time? At parks and playing school sports! Just kidding...their on Instagram. The photo sharing site has seen big numbers in the teen demographic. In another survey (because this crap is so important) teens call Instagram more important than Facebook.

The happy news for Facebook: They own Instagram.
