New ‘Black Bear Cinemas’ To Hold Grand Opening With $1 Tickets Tuesday
It was less than a month ago that it was announced Spotlight Cinemas in Orono was changing hands and changing its name to Black Bear Cinemas.
Former employees Zach Hussey and Charles Moody purchased the theater with the hopes of amping up the celebration of all things film, being major movie fans themselves.
There's no doubt Hussey and Moody would have remembered the fun of "Dollar Tuesdays" at Spotlight. And it's no wonder they've decided to bring that back for their big Grand Opening this week.
They hosted a soft opening a few weeks back when The Barbie Movie and Oppenheimer opened and even painted their lobby pink to mark the occasion.
This Tuesday, they've painted it all green, and they're going to host their official Grand Opening to coincide with the release of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. They even held an art competition leading up to the bid day, soliciting local Ninja Turtles-themed pieces to hang on display in their lobby.

According to their Facebook Page, they'll have plenty of prizes and special ways to celebrate their official Grand Opening, including a special ticket price.
